The Steens Mountain Historical Tour
|
The Steens Mountain
Historical Tour was a fun filled
event. We met at the
Frenchglen Hotel to start the
tour and followed the bumpy
and dusty Steens Loop road
going from north to south.
The weather was very
cooperative and the high
elevation kept temperatures
comfortable. Carrie Gordon
gave excellent overviews on
the geology of the scenic area
and Steve Lent provided some
historical background.
The magnificent views of this
scenic wonder of Oregon
were well worth the trip. We
came down the steep and
rocky south road but
everyone got through without
any problems. We had dinner
at the Frenchglen Hotel and
shared many an enjoyable
conversation with fellow tour
members.
